The Weekly Peep #1 — Crypto casino deposits near $45B as the top three take 75%

Welcome to The Weekly Peep — Peeped's read on where the money is moving in crypto casino and iGaming markets. Each week we pull together the on-chain data and the industry headlines that actually matter. Here's where things stand as August 2026 gets going.

The number that matters: ~$44.7B and still climbing

Tracked crypto-casino deposit volume sat at roughly $44.7 billion as of late July 2026, up about 84% year on year, according to industry trackers. That is not a niche any more — it is one of the fastest-growing segments in all of online gambling, and the growth is broad-based rather than a single operator's spike.

A concentrated market: the top three take ~75%

The flip side of that growth is concentration. Reporting this month puts the top three operators at about 75.5% of tracked deposit volume — one dominant brand, two credible challengers, and a long tail of smaller sites fighting over the remaining quarter. Stake is still widely expected to hold the top spot on brand trust alone, with Shuffle and Roobet among the names most often cited as the challengers to watch this year.

This is exactly the shape of market where independent deposit and withdrawal data earns its keep: when three brands move most of the money, knowing who is gaining and who is bleeding share — from the chain up, not from operator press releases — is the whole game.

Launches: Spartans goes global

On August 1, Spartans flipped its regional success into a worldwide launch, reportedly carrying roughly $1B wagered and ~$40M GGR out of beta. New entrants clearing that kind of beta traction are worth tracking early — they tend to be the ones that dent the long tail's 25% before they threaten the top three.

Regulation: the UK keeps circling crypto

  • Payments. Back in February, UKGC executive director Tim Miller called crypto "one of the two biggest searches that lead British gamblers to illegal sites," while signalling the Commission wants a route for crypto to work as a regulated payment option for licensed GB gambling — a carrot-and-stick posture that has defined 2026 so far.
  • Sponsorship. A DCMS review into banning unlicensed-gambling sponsorship of British sport opened in July, directly threatening Stake's multi-year sleeve deal with Everton — a reminder that the biggest brands' marketing surface is now a regulatory target.
  • Licensing. On the operator side, Rollbit continues under Curaçao's framework (operated by Bull Gaming N.V., licence company no. 157086), part of a wider 2026 drift toward tiered KYC/AML across the major crypto books.

What we're watching next week

  • Whether the top-three share ticks past 76% or the challengers claw any back.
  • Spartans' first full post-launch weeks — does the beta traction hold on-chain?
  • Any movement on the UK crypto-payments consultation and the Everton sponsorship review.
